ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO....

A friend mentioned to me that the government had “Forgiven” his loan that was associated with pandemic relief. I’ve had trouble articulating my feelings about the nations response to the pandemic but have found myself waiting for the JFK “Ask what you can do for your country” speech. I believe that times of pandemic are times for societal sacrifice. There is something unsettling to me that the US government, arguably, dollar for dollar the most corrupt entity on the planet is offering forgiveness. What I see is an institutional cheapening of a man’s word, suddenly the handshake holds no value. To remove expectations from society is a condition far more dangerous than any pandemic can inflict.
