Mutual Morality

A coffee barista was punched by a customer for enforcing a store policy that required wearing a mask. In another instance, a couple sitting at a picnic table eating lunch in a public park were pepper sprayed for not wearing a mask. I can almost guarantee that the person who punched the barista is a Republican and the pepper sprayer is a Democrat. Republicans and Democrats are vastly different from one another, but we are by no means better than one another. When engaged in heated political discussion it always seems to lead to a defensive conclusion that Republicans or Democrats are somehow morally superior to the other. I believe that one way or another we are in for a lifestyle change and we need to embrace our mutual morality and avoid the toxicity of our political leanings.
