Stockholm Syndrome

I witnessed a heated conversation between a Trump supporter and Trump critic. The conversation, which oddly had nothing to do with policy, went from heated to seething to personal to outta here. I’m close with both combatants and know them to be equally moral, upstanding citizens. The adoration or hate we feel towards our perspective representatives is as psychologically complicated as Stockholm Syndrome. These people are not our friends, and I believe that they have stumbled onto a formula that prompts us to do harm to ourselves.
